MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY LOS ANGELES | GROUP SHOW
April 2018, Blazing Editions produced over 60 prints on dye sublimated aluminum for MOPLA group show. The organization began in April 2009, the event was inspired by a vision filled with possibilities to highlight photos and artists that both provoke emotion, depth and purpose. April 2018 MOPLA celebrated a decade of incredibly powerful images by Los Angeles artists, showing truth and beauty in the art world.
MOPLA's two-fold mission is to advance dynamic programming designed to engage and stimulate the photography community, as well as to present a comprehensive resource of exhibitions and events.
Photography is the most contemporary and democratic mode of self-expression to date. It touches on both the abstract complex world of mood, imagination and fantasy; as well as the political art and social critique and reflection. Photography is visual poetry that binds us with our own humanity. The connection with the human struggle that a photograph conveys, has the potential to give us great purpose.
We created a citywide initiative, the first of its kind, to showcase and celebrate photography through events and programs that inspire and invigorate the professional enthusiast, emerging professional and collector. - Cat Jimenez, Co-Founder, MOPLA
Photography is a visual language with infinite possibilities to connect, change and innovate. At MOPLA, the photography exhibited gives us the opportunity to build connections and unite communities to get inspired and take action. MOPLA brings revolutionaries, visionaries and innovators together to observe and honor photographs. Now is the most celebrated time for photography while we move forward, as an image-based society.
As the medium and its technology and platform evolve exponentially, MOPLA continues to champion artists and installations that spark todays generations creative beacons, muses, connoisseurs and keen observers.
