In 2019, Blazing Editions had the privilege of producing 30 large-format prints for legendary photographer Jay Maisel’s studio in Brooklyn, New York.
Jay’s photographs transform fleeting moments into unforgettable compositions. His remarkable eye for color, light, gesture, and geometry reveals something extraordinary in the everyday. Presented at 40 × 60 inches, each image invites viewers to slow down, move closer, and experience the work's richness at an immersive scale.
To give the photographs the presence they deserve, we produced the collection as dye-sublimated prints on ChromaLuxe aluminum. This process infuses dyes directly into the specially coated aluminum surface, creating exceptional color, tonal depth, clarity, and permanence. The smooth, contemporary presentation also lets viewers see the work without glass between the photograph and the viewer.
Our team managed the project from fine-art printing through mounting and careful delivery. Maintaining color and production consistency across 30 large panels required close attention at every stage. We inspected each finished work, fitted it with its mounting system, protected it for transport, and delivered it to Jay’s Brooklyn studio ready for display.
The studio was outfitted with professional lighting for all 30 photographs, allowing the color, detail, and visual energy of Jay’s work to come fully alive. Together, the large-scale aluminum panels and carefully considered lighting transformed the space into an image-filled environment—part working studio, part personal exhibition.
