Roberto Dutesco

Roberto Dutesco is a globally recognized artist, photographer, filmmaker, poet, and explorer. His career spans more than 35 years and includes work in more than 75 countries. Guided by the belief that art and beauty change how people view conservation, Roberto's efforts—including his work, talks, charitable activities, and the Chasing Wild Horses documentary—have helped raise international awareness of Sable Island and led to official protections for its wild horses.

Installation

On Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, Brooklyn’s sole children’s hospital inaugurated its facilities with a distinguished donation of 25 photographs courtesy of The Wild Horses of Sable Island Gallery, captured by Roberto Dutesco. These artworks now reside permanently at the institution.

The 25 photographs exhibited within the hospital are intended to provide comfort not only to the patients but also to their parents, medical professionals, and staff members. This donation constitutes a gracious gift from an exhibition that has traveled extensively across North America and is now permanently exhibited at Maimonides.
