Hotel Installation

Stephen has had a relationship with the Hotel and its restaurants for 15 years. Sheffield and his wife designed and decorated the hotel bar, including his own art and work by many other local artists.
For this installation, they approached Sheffield with the idea of hanging art in 5 large elevators and discussed how that would look. The Hotel proposed that he could curate a small “gallery experience” in each elevator. The day of our scheduled March installation was canceled because of the pandemic, as the hotel was temporarily closed. In early July, the hotel began preparing to reopen, and Sheffield got the green light to proceed. To be as safe as possible, Sheffield did the installation himself, taking all necessary precautions. The hotel did its part by cleaning and prepping the spaces per his requirements and letting him work. The work is installed with industrial double-stick tape. Sheffield has years of experience with this type of tape and has worked in restaurants for 10 or more years without a hitch.
