2nd surface Printing

The Process

The image is printed in reverse on the back of an optically clear acrylic panel. You view it through the acrylic itself—like a painting behind museum glass, but fused into a single, seamless object.

No face-mounting. No adhesive layer. UV-cured pigment bonds to the substrate and the panel becomes both the print and its own protection — ready to hang, built to last.

2nd Surface Printing

Print directly to the reverse of the acrylic on our new SwissQPrint Nyala 5 — so the image lives behind the glass-clear face. The result is luminous depth, faithful color, and a surface that protects the work it carries.

Viewed through optically clear acrylic, the image gains a lit-from-within glow and a sense of three-dimensional depth impossible on paper or canvas.

Protection

The print sits behind the panel, shielded from moisture, fingerprints, abrasion, and airborne contaminants by the acrylic itself.

No Facemount

We print directly to the reverse—no adhesive interlayers, no lamination seams, and no risk of de-lamination over time. No orange peel or silvering effect, which can occur with photographic paper laminated to acrylic.

Vivid colors

UV-cured pigment delivers a wide gamut, dense blacks, and crisp edge detail, curing instantly and maintaining saturation.

Our UV DiBond prints are produced on our swissQprint UV flatbed system, a high-end platform designed for precision, consistency, and direct-to-substrate printing. This technology enables us to print on rigid materials with excellent registration, controlled ink laydown, and the ability to incorporate specialty channels such as white ink and varnish. For artists, galleries, designers, and fabricators, this opens a wider range of creative possibilities — from clean photographic panels to layered prints, selective white ink, spot varnish, and custom display work.
